However, i never felt that the oneness of all the nations by any way detracted from the EE gameplay. Microing shows your knowledge of the true zen of the game, it shows that your not just "pushin a couple hotkeys and hopin for the best"Īlso, individuality of each nation is not something that is *REQUIRED* but, nevertheless, i suppose it is better than all nations being the same. If you want to just sit there and watch, and not be involved in the game, im sure they'll have loads of replays to download and watch at your own leisure. While i dont neccesarily believe that the whole "no microing" thing is noob friendly, it certainly takes a bit of the depth of the game out, and that kind of depresses me when people think that microing is such a bad thing. While nowadays, it may seem to be a bit dated, i cant help my self from going back occasionally and playin a good liga game with some of my old friendsĪlso, some people enjoy havin some control over your economy and your citizens, and not having some computer which is blind to your ambitions run your lil country for yourself. Apparently, none of you really experienced the true zen of EE if thats the opinions you have of it.įYI, EE was one of the most balanced, longest lasting, and unarguably best RTS's of its time.
